WUEMED WORKSHOP
|
Following
InterDrought-II, the EU-funded workshop “Improving water-use efficiency in
Mediterranean agriculture: What limits the adoption of new technologies?”
(WUEMED) will be held on September 29 and 30 at the CNR (National Research Council),
which is located 400 meters from the University of Rome. The overall
objective of the WUEMED workshop is to establish a forum to assess and
discuss how the knowledge generated through European Commission funded
research activities between Europe and the Mediterranean (namely INCO-MED
activities), as well as through any other joint international research action
of European and Mediterranean developing countries, together with what will
be presented and discussed during InterDrought-II, may impact and improve
crop production under drought, and from that to the end-users in the
Mediterranean countries. WUEMED participants will have ample opportunities to
interact with InterDrought-II participants through the presentation of
posters throughout the duration of InterDrought-II. WUEMED participants will
evaluate/identify and discuss what are the promising techniques and practices
derived from the scientific knowledge and the constraints (e.g. cost,
sophistication, training, information, policies, etc.) that limit their
adoption for the end-users in Mediterranean countries. |
|
Details
of the WUEMED workshop to be posted on the WUEMED website at: www.distagenomics.unibo.it/wuemed |
